Art-Glass Windows
Most striking are Elmslie's geometric designs for the windows. From the outside, the glass patterns, with their diamond shapes descending in size, form a visual barrier; from the inside, they are a kind of prism through which to view the outdoors. E.L. Sharrett's Mosaic Art Shops of Minneapolis charged no more than a reasonable $500 for all of the more than eighty art-glass panels in the house, each subtly different from the others. next page >
