The inpainting process is almost complete!


October 30, 1999

Inpainting Completed


Conservator David Marquis spends a final Saturday working on the painting in the exhibition gallery.

With the inpainting complete, conservators will then spend a week preparing the painting for reinstallation in the 3rd Floor Galleries.


November 1, 1999

Back to the Lab


The painting is moved to the conservation lab where a final varnish layer will be added to the painting.


November 2, 1999

Finishing Touches


The painting is varnished and moved back to the gallery where the conservators can make final adjustments to the inpainting.


November 9, 1999

Reinstallation: The End


The painting is re-installed in the gallery. The work of the conservators is complete.
