Designed by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde, this poster became an icon for the Art Nouveau style. Although the image appears totally abstract, it is an advertisement for Tropon, a nutrient derived from egg whites. Using highly stylized forms, van de Velde shows the egg whites being separated from the yolks.
