Get your glitz on at Target Family Day! Flash your bling in a jewelry-making workshop, or flash your smile at the MIA photo booth. Create a metallic masterpiece in a metal tooling studio. Be dazzled by harp performances, and delight in stellar silver- and gold-inspired stories. Discover the delicate art of silver leaf in a gilding demonstration, or go mining for gold in the MIA's galleries.

Experience a progressive Christmas of 1915 at the Purcell-Cutts House, the MIA's Prairie School gem. Tours offered by docents dressed in period finery. Saturdays hourly from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sundays hourly from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. $5; $4 for students; free for MIA members and children under 12. Shuttle service available. Winterlights at the Purcell-Cutts House

Designed by William Purcell and George Elmslie in 1913, the Prairie School-style Purcell-Cutts House will be decorated for the holidays to reflect the upper-middle-class, progressive lifestyle of the Purcells around 1915. Forty-five minute tours led by costumed docents will emphasize the gifts, toys, food and social traditions of the period that the Purcells might have enjoyed.

Docent-led tours every day at 1 p.m.; weekends at 1 and 2:30 p.m.; and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
