Let's step into the past with a designer's mind. We'll imagine, research, and build our own special place.
IN THE GALLERIES Be immersed in the places and spaces of world history. Do field research on a period in history and its architecture and interior design. Fill your sketchbook with inspiration. IN THE STUDIO Work with your sketches to create plans for your own period room. Construct an architectural model of miniature proportions. Outfit your period room with custom furnishings. MATERIALS Graphite pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paint, various papers and fabrics, tagboard, wire, wood.
Tuition: $360; $288 for MIA members. Section limited to 14.

IN THE GALLERIES Explore art that captures pets at play and at rest. Discover familiar furry friends and unexpected creatures. Imagine the adventures you'd have traveling to France, China, or Tahiti with your pet. IN THE STUDIO Learn about line, shape, color, and texture as you capture a pet's personality in paint. Make an eye- catching Pop Art pet. Create pet accessories and bling sure to make Fido stand out in a crowd. MATERIALS Model Magic, tempera paint, mixed materials.
