Welcome to your MIA! Let's get acquainted with the museum's building, art collection, and people as we explore inside and out.
IN THE GALLERIES
Go on a scavenger hunt to get to know the museum and its many art treasures.
Find and sketch your favorite painting, sculpture, or other artwork.
Meet some of the workers here and hear about how they protect and display the art.
IN THE STUDIO
Create your very own work of art inspired by the museum.
Try out a whole bunch of super-cool art materials.
Share your art with friends and family in a studio exhibit and reception.

Let's spend our days drawing inside and out, at the museum and at the park!
IN THE GALLERIES Sketch like the artist Paul Klee, who once said, "Drawing is like taking a line for a walk." Practice ways that drawing captures line, shape, texture, color?and the imagination. Seek out works of art inspired by nature. IN THE PARK Explore Minneapolis parks through the eyes of an artist. Take a closer look at flora and fauna in the museum's backyard. Draw the natural world?in summer's full bloom?from direct observation. MATERIALS Graphite pencils, colored pencils, pastels, watercolors, markers, drawing paper.
Tuition: $360; $288 for MIA members. Section limited to 14.

Everything changes with time, even art. Let's ponder the effects of the calendar on art throughout the ages.
IN THE GALLERIES Explore art that's weathered with age, records time, or changes over time.
Discover an enormous colorful work of sand art that wasn't made to last.
Examine the effects of time on the surface of paintings and sculpture.
IN THE STUDIO Work with materials that change before your eyes and through exposure to sun, wind, and water.
Design your own temporary tattoos.
Make art that changes over time.
MATERIALS Bubbles, tempera paint, Sunprint paper, chalk.
