The Company We Keep: 2012 Highlights
JPMorgan Chase has been conducting business in China for more than 90 years and understands what it means to make a difference in the world. The MIA applauds JPMorgan Chase for their presenting sponsorship of “China’s Terracotta Warriors: The First Emperor’s Legacy.” JPMorgan Chase’s generous support provides critical funding to help the MIA serve more than 14,000 schoolchildren through free guided school tours to learn about the amazing artifacts from this extraordinary archaeological excavation.
Bedankt—thank you in Dutch—to U.S. Bank for their generous support of “Rembrandt in America”, which brings to Minnesota the largest selection of Rembrandt paintings assembled in the United States. Ever. That’s a long time, even for a museum with a collection of 83,000 artworks spanning 5,000 years. We are truly grateful for U.S. Bank’s sustained support of the MIA and our efforts to showcase amazing works of art from around the globe right here in our local community.
Maslon, Edelman, Borman & Brand is a leader in both the legal profession and the communities it serves, and the MIA is honored to share a long-standing partnership that extends beyond financial support and service to the MIA. Thank you, Maslon, for supporting the MIA, the Legacy Luncheon, and the museum's mission to enrich the community by collecting, preserving, and making accessible outstanding works of art from the world’s diverse cultures.
The MIA is pleased to celebrate over 30 years of partnering with Ameriprise Financial. Its general operating support of the museum’s school tours provides an enhanced learning experience for over 72,000 K-12 students, while encouraging visual thinking and providing rich connections between the arts and other disciplines. Thank you, Ameriprise Financial, for being a leader in the financial services industry and in the community!
The MIA extends is congratulations to Summit Brewing Company, the Official Beer of Third Thursday, for 25 years of exceptional brewing. By sponsoring Third Thursday, Summit has made an investment that helps bring amazing artwork from the world's cultures to residents of the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota. Thank you, Summit, for all you do. Cheers!
A warm thanks to Abbot Downing (formerly Lowry Hill) for supporting two of the MIA’s major spring events—the 19th annual Print & Drawing Fair and the 29th annual Art in Bloom. Abbot Downing, which serves individuals, families, and their endowments and foundations to help preserve and grow assets and build legacies across generations, is helping the museum continue its tradition of presenting the community with access to amazing works of art from across the world. Lowry Hill has been a long-standing partner of the MIA, and the museum is grateful to Abbot Downing for carrying on this legacy.
