Parking: The entrances to the MIA and museum parking ramp are located on Third Avenue South between East 24th and 25th Streets. The parking ramp is just south of the museum. Additional parking is located at the northeast corner of the East 24th Street and Third Avenue South intersection, and across Third Avenue South from the ramp.

From the EAST on 94 West (St. Paul):  Travel on 94 West and exit at 11th Street. Follow 11th Street exit to the second stoplight. Turn left onto 3rd Avenue South. Continue on 3rd Avenue until you see the MIA on your right, just south of the intersection of 24th Street and 3rd Avenue.

From DOWNTOWN Minneapolis:  Intersect with 3rd Avenue and proceed south (away from the Mississippi River). Continue on 3rd Avenue until you see the MIA on your right, just south of the intersection of 24th Street and 3rd Avenue.

From the WEST on 394 East (Wayzata, St. Louis Park, Golden Valley):  Travel on 394 East and exit on 12th Street. Follow 12th Street 4 blocks, turn right on La Salle Avenue. Take La Salle to Franklin Avenue. Turn left on Franklin and proceed to 3rd Avenue South. Turn right on 3rd Avenue and proceed to the MIA.

From the NORTH and NORTHWEST on 94 East (Brooklyn Center, St. Cloud):  Travel 94 East and take the Hennepin/Lyndale exit. When Hennepin and Lyndale avenues divide, continue on Lyndale Avenue South to 24th Street. Turn left and proceed to 3rd Avenue South. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue.

From the NORTH and EAST on 35W South (Roseville, North St. Paul, Duluth):  Travel on 35W South. Exit to 94 West. Proceed on 94 West and exit at 11th Street. Follow 11th Street to the second stoplight. Turn left onto 3rd Avenue South. Continue on 3rd Avenue until you see the MIA on your right, just south of the intersection of 24th Street and 3rd Avenue.

From the SOUTH on 35W North (South Minneapolis, Burnsville, Rochester):  Travel on 35W North and take the 31st Street/Lake Street exit. Turn left onto 31st Street and proceed to 1st Avenue South. Turn right and proceed north. After crossing over Lake Street, proceed north on 1st Avenue to 24th Street. Turn right on 24th Street and proceed to 3rd Avenue. Turn right onto 3rd Avenue. The entrance to the MIA is on the right.

Via Bus: The MIA is located along Metro Transit route #11. A number of other bus lines run within blocks of the museum. Visit Metro Transit to use the Metro Transit Trip Planner to find the best route to the MIA.

Parking: A modest fee for parking enables the MIA to maintain this important amenity for our members and guests.

Rates: For the ramp and the surface lot at 3rd Ave. S. and E. 25th St., and the 2-level surface lot at 3rd Ave. S. and E. 24th St., parking rates are now:

1. $4 for the three hours
2. $1 each additional hour, not to exceed $12.

Please follow instructions at the pay stations.

The entrances to the MIA and museum parking ramp are located on Third Avenue South between East 24th and 25th streets. The parking ramp is just south of the museum. Additional parking is located at the northeast corner of the East 24th Street and Third Avenue South intersection, and across Third Avenue South from the ramp.

It is best to leave plenty of time to arrive when coming for a visit, lecture, tour, or other event.

Off-street parking is available at the following locations:

Surface lot at 24th Street and Third Avenue South

1. Enter the top level on Third Avenue, north of 24th Street.
2. Enter the lower level on Clinton Avenue, north of 24th Street.
3. This lot is under camera surveillance and is patrolled by museum security staff. Call boxes are located on both levels at both exits. If you need assistance, or have car trouble, you can be immediately connected to MIA Security at the touch of a button.

• Enter this lot on either Third Avenue or on 25th Street.

Parking ramp at 25th Street and Third Avenue South


• Enter all levels of this ramp on Third Avenue.
  

Bicycle Parking & Rental


• Bicycle racks are available at the MIA's entrance on Third Avenue, and on the first level of the 25th Street parking ramp.
• The MIA is located near the MCAD Nice Ride station. For more information on bicycle rental, visit niceridemn.org.

For all lots, a 24-hour campus escort is available by calling Security. No overnight parking allowed. Violators will be towed to Wrecker Services, (612) 330-0013.
