Galleries 277, 278, 279

This exhibition brings together works by modern and contemporary female artists who exhibit innovative approaches to the vessel. The department of Decorative Arts, Textiles, and Sculpture conceived "Basins, Baskets, and Bowls" around a group of significant recent acquisitions in ceramic, fiber, and wood. Artists include fiber artist Mary Giles, ceramic artist Cheryl Ann Thomas, wood artist Addie Draper, and modern masters such as Laura Andreson and Beatrice Wood, selected from the MIA's collection and on loan from private collections.
