MILLIONS OF INNOCENT ACCIDENTS by Hardland/Heartland and Unconventional Wisdom by Mike Elko and Ruthann Godollei

Friday, August 29, 2008—Sunday, October 26, 2008
MAEP Galleries
Free Exhibition

Ruthann Godollei and Mike Elko are printmakers who share a sardonic sense of humor. Godollei’s work comments on inequities, injustices, and disparities via a series of symbolic containers and household items.

Elko transforms idealized images of American life, family, and politics into sly observations on contemporary culture.

Aaron Anderson and Eric Carlson of the collective Hardland/Heartland create a multi-media, post-apocalyptic vision of the Upper Midwest. Straddling the lines between the real and fantasy HL/HL's narrative installations bend and twist with the will of viewers and participants.

Opening Reception: Thursday, August 28, at 7 p.m.

Gallery Talk with Hardland/Heartland: Thursday, September 11, at 7 p.m.
