The Jack Lenor Larsen Design Studio-A Four-Part Exhibition

Sunday, June 11, 2006—Friday, August 17, 2007
Gallery 279
Free Exhibition

This gallery is dedicated to the display of materials from the Jack Lenor Larsen Company Archive, which was acquired by the museum in 1999. For five decades the company was renowned for its international leadership in the field of contemporary interiors textiles. With the MIA's holding of the entire archive, we are able to examine the material in greater depth than has been possible in the past, and share new insights as well as showing pieces that never went into formal production.

Drawing from the company archive of almost four thousand pieces, this series of four rotations focuses on the function of the design studio and the roles of four of its designers: Winn Anderson (June 11, 2006, through January 28, 2007); Lori Witzner (February 10, 2007, through mid-July 2007); Mark Pollack (mid-July 2007 through late 2007); and Paul Gedeohn (winter/spring 2008).
