Legendary WCCO Radio personalities Boone and Erickson will be the official emcees for Art in Bloom, bringing their unique sense of humor and fabulous camaraderie to our events, especially the gala dinner. Minnesotans know this lively duo from their forty wonderful years on WCCO radio. Art in Bloom is the perfect opportunity to bring these two back together - Roger Erickson has long been interested in flowers and gardening and has a hobby farm with a menagerie of animals, and Charlie Boone, a long-time art aficionado and collector, loves to visit the museum. In fact, he highly recommends our galleries as a great place for dating couples. He and his wife, Carol, had their first date at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Family Day Event
Our Family Day Event gives kids and parents a chance to explore the wonders of art and nature together. This year's event is inspired by Doreen Cronin's children's book, Diary of a Worm, a whimsical journal about the daily doings and the hidden world of a lovable underground dweller. Illustrator and cartoonist, Harry Bliss, will join us for the fun. Come hear a theatrical storyteller, create your own art with an exciting craft project, and follow our "Worm Trail." The activities and events will run continuously from 1 to 4 p.m. Activities were designed with children ages 4 to 10 in mind, but there’s plenty of fun for everyone in the family to enjoy. FREE, Registration required.
